The Raleigh Murals Project is a citizens’ collective bound by a common desire to preserve, celebrate, and promote existing and new public artwork in Raleigh, N.C.

We wanted to create an artistic, fun, shareable video that, instead of telling viewers exactly what the Raleigh Murals Project is, makes them want to know more. We tapped volunteers from our community to interact with six murals in a way of their choosing, and then tied it all together with the endtag, “Shouldn’t a City be as Colorful as its Citizens?”.

The video premiered on INDYweek and was supplemented by an additional 15-piece micro media campaign tailored to social media.

With over 20,000 views in the first week, the video raised awareness about Raleigh Murals Project’s effort to identify ways to connect artists to potential canvases in a way that can enhance the public spaces of the City of Raleigh.

Each year, I organized a scavenger-style bicycle race through downtown Raleigh with my buddy Jared. It’s called the Hepcat, so, what else could I do but ride my bike with my cat?

All race proceeds benefit SAFE Haven for Cats, our area’s first no-kill shelter. The ridership is truly all types—young, old, competitive, and not-so-much—and that’s part of the fun. Hepcat favors inquisitive folks who love downtown Raleigh and are willing to solve clues to find their route.

This video came together over the course of a few days, with production maverick Kent Willard manning both camera and post. I was in charge of creative direction and scripting, and Alysse produced the spot. It was a fast-paced team effort that resulted in a really fun video, and a scene of my kitten drinking at local dive bar, Slim's. It has been shared more than 10,000 times.

When the ACC needed a new spot to highlight their men's basketball coaches, I was fired up! I'm a proud UNC alum and quickly learned to love basketball while attending Carolina. This spot was a fun challenge, because it required using archival footage and making sure that each conference coach got a moment in the spotlight—a lot to fit into a :30 second spot. This PSA aired on ESPN during college basketball games.

WE WANT YOU TO... VOTE RALEIGH

My co-worker, Jedidiah Gant, and I believe voting should be easily available and accessible to all citizens, and that locals should encourage and celebrate voter turnout as a point of pride.

So, we created a 12 x 12 mobile mural that reimagines the “I Voted” sticker through a localized lens. It hung in a prominent downtown location throughout early voting until Election Day (Oct. 20 through Nov. 8, 2016). On Nov. 8, we handed out 10,000 miniature sticker versions outside of select polling places with the help of Democracy NC. This video, made to promote the effort online, received 25,000 views on Facebook.

In the summer of 2016, Toyota Motor Sales and Southeast Toyota joined together to reach millennials in the Research Triangle Park area of North Carolina.

In their initial push, they invited 10 locals to try the new Toyota Prius for a week. Users were encouraged to drive the car around town, sharing their photographs and experiences with the car using the hashtag #TriPrius. We knew that the Prius gets great gas milage, but the newest model has a sportier, sleeker look. Like true southerners, we joked about taking the car to a local NASCAR track to see how it would perform. But then it hit us. We have our own public “racetrack” just a short drive from our front door: the 16-mile stretch of highway that encircles the city of Raleigh, known as the Beltline.

After outfitting the car with 4 GoPros, 3 audio recorders, and 2 Big Gulps™, recruiting a camera operator to hang out of a production vehicle with a FS700 on the highway, and topping off the tank, we began our adventure. We drove for 14 hours, and during that time, we held a meeting with a Raleigh city councilor, enjoyed to a backseat acoustic set by musician, watched a live sketch by an artist, talked music and coding with a DJ, and hung out with a Raleigh-based environmental engineer and her Great Dane.

When the the tank ran out, we had traveled 500 miles on 11 gallons of gas, for a total of 18 laps around the Beltline. We created the accompanying case study video to document the day, as well as several short interview clips with each of our passengers that we could share on social media.

This PSA, for the Atlantic Coast Conference, was meant to highlight the crossover between academic and athletic excellence at has always defined the conference. With 12 schools and a charge to include as many different sports as possible, this fast-moving spot features motion graphics to tie it all together.

Each year, the historic Oakwood neighborhood opens its doors to 2,000 guests during the holiday season.

This is the story of what it took for two brand-new homeowners—namely, my husband and me—to prepare for the event.

I spent the day with Daniel Benjamin of Raleigh’s lucettegrace to document the beautiful birth of an oh-so-tasty pastry. Named for the collaboration between local coffee roaster, Larry’s Beans, and the bean-to-bar chocolatier, Escazu, this is one of my favorite things to eat any time of day!

Lucettegrace owner Daniel Benjamin wanted to showcase how much work goes into a single bite of cake. The video above is a collection of a 10-part series of 15-second micro media videos made for the bakery's social media platform that tells the story of a pastry from beginning to end. The imagery is accompanied by a custom score and sound design.

See a few of the micromedia spots below, which were shared on Instagram.

Slingshot Coffee is one of my favorite things ever.

We spent several weeks with founder Jenny Bonchak to share the story of what inspired her to start Slingshot, from her family's agricultural roots in Pennsylvania to her love of craft coffee. Jenny has since won a boatload of awards for her delicious cold brew and attention to detail. This video follows in Jenny's footsteps; it took first place at the Triangle Advertising Awards.

"Just One" PSA

This PSA sponsored by ACT Now NC encourages viewers to consider the implication of buzzed driving. Inspired by the idea of what "just one" thing can do, we created a series of situations in which close calls result in major outcomes. It was aired on broadcast television.
